Paint Protection Film: Invisible Armour Against Stone Chips

PPF is a thick, clear, self-healing urethane film applied to the areas that take the hits: front bumper, bonnet, mirrors and more. Stones, road debris, scuffs and scratches stop at the film and never reach your paint.

About paint protection film

For the damage a coating cannot stop.

Ceramic coatings protect against chemicals, UV and light marring. Paint protection film protects against impact. The film absorbs the energy of stones and debris that would otherwise chip the paint, and its self-healing top layer makes light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat from the sun or warm water. Modern films are optically clear, gloss-matched to paint and resistant to yellowing.

We prepare the paint as carefully as for a coating, because film locks in the surface beneath it. Panels are decontaminated, polished if needed and cleaned, and the film is applied with precision-cut patterns or hand-trimmed for wrapped edges and a near-invisible finish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about paint protection film (ppf) in Gordon and across Sydney’s North Shore.

Ask a question

The front bumper, bonnet leading edge, mirrors and guards take the most stone strikes. Sills, door edges, the luggage area and A-pillars are next. Full-front coverage is the most popular choice; full vehicle wraps suit new prestige cars.

Quality film removed correctly by a professional leaves factory paint unharmed. Removal from repainted or previously damaged areas needs care, which is why we inspect and advise before installing.

On a well-prepared car with wrapped edges the film is nearly invisible. Some edges may show a fine line on close inspection, and we will show you exactly where they will sit before we start.

Wash gently with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid pressure washing directly at edges for the first weeks and never use abrasive polishes on the film. A ceramic coating over the film makes cleaning even easier.

They do different jobs. Film stops impact damage; coating resists chemicals and UV and makes cleaning easy. Many customers film the front and coat the whole car, including over the film.
